Just a tip on Picking a Date
A shower is usually held two to four months before you get married. Any closer to the big day, and you’ll be too busy with last-minute details to enjoy yourself. And it's too much to ask guests to buy multiple presents in a short time span.
Although it may be difficult to pick a date when everyone is available, it's best to plan around a holiday (religious or nonreligious) if you're inviting out-of-towners, and they'll be more likely to make the trip. But if most guests are local, evenings are a good option, too. If your planning a big shower with alot of attendees, don't beat yourself up too much, you'll have to accept that it may not be possible to find a date where everyone is available. Do the best you can with the majority and realize that it's up to them to make the effort to be there and share the experience with the people they care about. Once a date is set, invites should go out a month to six weeks in advance.
