Hey girls, don't you just hate it when just a couple of hours after you do your make-up it starts to wear off.
Here are some tips on how to have your make-up last longer.
Prep Your Skin
Wash your face with a mild cleanser to remove makeup, oil, and dirt, then use a gentle scrub to buff off any dry patches. Or, if you have sensitive skin, skip the exfoliant and simply use a washcloth. Blot your skin dry, and spritz on a soothing rose or chamomile toner to add a dewy glow. Then, rather than slathering on a heavy moisturizer, "opt for a gel-based lotion that'll leave your face smooth and help extend the wear of your makeup".
Create a Flawless Canvas
First, select a foundation that's suited to your skin type. Choose a matte finish if you tend to get oily, and go with a creamy formula if you're on the dry side. Steer clear of illuminating formulas ( especially if your having your picture taken ), as digital photography is hyper-sensitive to shimmer and can make glowing skin look greasy. Apply a light layer of primer, then use a foundation brush to sweep makeup onto the t-zone. Blend it out to the edges of your face and ears, taking care to work it into your neck and hairline. Then, press it into your skin with your fingers. "This picks up excess makeup and smoothes out telltale lines". Finally, keep shine in check by applying a mattifying balm to your T-zone, and sweep translucent powder all over to set everything in place. Throughout the day you can use blotting sheets to soak up excess oil without removing your makeup.
Conceal and Camouflage
To eliminate dark under eye circles or shadows on the inner corners of the eyes, reach for a creamy concealer. Apply it with your fingers to prevent residual amounts from sinking into fine lines. For blemishes and pimples, regular concealer just doesn't cut it. Instead, use a camouflage, a type of cover-up that's tacky to the touch. "It's a drier version of concealer that's densely pigmented and less emollient so it stays put and makes anything vanish". Apply a tiny amount with a small, pointed brush, and repeat to build coverage if needed.
Prime Your Eyelids
"Eye shadow primers smooth out the skin on the lid, cover up veins, and prevent shadows and liners from migrating for hours". After smoothing it over the entire lid and the eye crease with your finger, dust on a neutral bone- or almond-colored shadow with a fluffy brush.
Apply Liner Like a Pro
For a very defined line, use a felt-tipped liquid liner or a waterproof eyeliner pencil; then to set it, trace the line with a thin brush dipped in a matching eye shadow powder. "For a softer line, apply regular kohl eyeliner before your base neutral eye shadow". "The shadow will smudge it out a bit for a diffused look".
Budge-Proof Your Blush
Blush often pulls a disappearing act half way through the day. To make it stay put, layering is key. First, smooth a cream formula onto the apples of your cheeks. Then, dust on an oil-absorbing invisible powder to lock in the color. Lastly, apply a final coat of powder blush with a large, fluffy brush.
Wear Waterproof Mascara
If it's your wedding day, chances are pretty good that you're going to experience a happy tear or two, so why risk a streaky mess? "Waterproof formulas are the way to go for weddings, but they can dry out quickly and make lashes look spidery if you're not careful". To get around this, use a brand new tube on the day of your wedding, and separate your lashes with a lash comb after applying it. Or, eliminate the need for mascara altogether by opting for faux lashes or even long-lasting lash extensions.
Make Your Lipstick Stay Put
Long-lasting lip products work well, but they often feel thick and dry. The good news? "It's easy to make your regular lipstick last longer and feel comfortable." First, prep lips with a moisturizing lip balm, then use a washcloth to buff it -- and any dry skin -- off. Next, fill in lips completely with a flesh-toned lip liner to give your lipstick a base to adhere to. Apply your lipstick with a lip brush, blot with a tissue, and then repeat. Matte lipsticks last the longest, but if you want a hint of shine, layer on a gloss or balm. Just remember, adding these slippery toppers also shorten the lifespan of your color and increases the need for touch-ups.
Remember also to use good make up. The cheaper stuff just doesn't last and you end up using alot more and it always costs about the same in the long run.

Denver Florists, engagement rings, how to buy a diamond, diamonds
Ok girls, time to get excited. Today we're talking about diamonds.
The Cut of Your Diamond
In the 1940s, the Gemological Institute of America (otherwise known as the GIA) created a diamond-grading system based on the four Cs of diamonds: cut, color, clarity, and carat. Today it remains the standard by which diamonds are judged internationally. Cut refers to a finished stone's proportion, polish, and symmetry. During the cutting process, artisans sculpt tiny angles -- known as facets -- into a raw stone, ultimately creating its overall shape. Poorly placed facets result in dullness, while those with optimum measurements guarantee that distinctive glitz and glimmer. Diamonds are carved into a variety of silhouettes, but "80 percent are round brilliants." "They have the most sparkle and are also the most popular among consumers."
Other Popular Cuts
Other common silhouettes include pear (Richard Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor one that weighed 69 carats), marquise, emerald (Prince Rainier proposed to Grace Kelly with this rectangular shape), Asscher, cushion (the world-renowned Regent diamond is a whopping 140-carat version), princess, and heart. In 2006 the GIA introduced a system for rating round brilliants -- ranging from "poor" to "excellent." Fancy shapes aren't held to the same standards, but you'll know a well-cut stone when you see it. Look for brilliance (it reflects light), fire (it flashes colors), and scintillation (it sparkles). And when shopping for an engagement ring, be sure to examine stones in a variety of different lighting environments, suggests Tom Moses, senior vice president for GIA Laboratory & Research in Carlsbad, California.
The Color of Your Diamond
There are two categories: colorless and fancy. Colorless diamonds are graded on a universal scale from D (completely clear) to Z (traces of yellow, gray, and brown), with a letter grade for each shade. While D color is like looking into a piece of glass, "E and F are also in the colorless range, and G through J are near colorless," explains Moses. "After K or L, colors start to turn very light yellow." Completely colorless stones are typically the rarest and most expensive on this scale, but some consumers actually prefer the look of a slightly warmer (or even very warm) white. For that reason, most diamonds sold in jewelry stores lie in the D to L range, as variations can be indiscernible to the untrained eye, and choosing a stone often falls to personal reference.
Fancy diamonds (yellow, pink, blue, and other naturally colored stones) are rarer, often putting them at a higher price point than colorless ones. While the GIA doesn't have a rating system in place for fancies, a more saturated shade is generally a more expensive stone.
The Clarity of Your Diamond
Most diamonds contain two types of naturally occurring imperfections: internal flaws (inclusions) and surface flaws (blemishes). Taking these traits into consideration, each diamond is given a clarity grade from the GIA's 11-step scale: Flawless (FL), Internally Flawless (IF), Very Very Slightly Included (VVS 1 and VVS 2), Very Slightly Included (VS 1 and VS 2), Slightly Included (SI 1 and SI 2), and Imperfect Included (I1, I2, and I3). Though flawless stones exist, they're incredibly rare -- most jewelers have never even seen one. As a result, many jewelry stores sell stones in the VS to SI range, which are considered "eye clean." The inclusions in this range are visible only under 10x magnification, says Moses. And though it may seem counterintuitive, a microscopic inclusion or two can actually be a good thing. "Like fingerprints, they make your stone unique and can help identify it," he says. Stones in the I range, however, should generally be avoided.
The Carat or Weight of Your Diamond
Not to be confused wi th karat, which is a measure of gold purity, the term carat refers to a diamond's weight, not its size. Each metric carat weighs 200 milligrams, and each carat is further divided into hundredths, or points. Sound complicated? Jewelers often make this simple analogy to money: Just as a dollar contains 100 pennies, each carat comprises 100 points. A 75-point diamond weighs 0.75 carats, a 50-pointer is 0.50 carats, a 25-pointer is 0.25 carats, and so on.
Does the Size of Your Diamond Matter?
Unlike the other three Cs, carat weight isn't always a direct reflection of cost. "If a diamond cutter chooses to leave in a flaw, the stone will be bigger but less brilliant and less expensive," says Moses. Along the same lines, a large stone with a low color grade can be less expensive than a smaller one with a high grade. It boils down to a matter of preference: If size matters but budget is a concern, you might opt to downgrade in quality. When shopping for a diamond, remember that stones weighing in at just under the full carat mark are much less expensive than stones right at the full carat mark. "A 95-point diamond costs less than one that weighs a full carat -- but when the stone is set, you won't be able to tell the difference in size," Moses says.
Set a Budget
Set a budget before you start shopping. "Ask to see only rings you can afford, and make your decision from those," says Sally Morrison, director of the Diamond Information Center in New York City. To understand what goes into the price of a diamond, remember that cut, clarity, carat, and color are all factors of a diamond's grade, and therefore, price
Clean and Care for Your Diamond Ring
Dirt, lotion, and even skin's natural oils can coat and cloud your ring, but with a little TLC, it will continue to dazzle. Once a year, take your ring to the jeweler for a thorough cleaning and a prong checkup. To spruce it up at home once a month, soak it in a mixture of warm water and mild dish washing liquid before scrubbing the stone gently with a soft toothbrush.
Also, make sure to get your ring appraised by someone certified by a recognized association such as the Gemological Institute of America, and insure it

Just prep skin with foundation and concealer as needed, follow our easy how tos, and finish with two coats of waterproof mascara. So easy!
Bone Color Eyes + Terracotta Cheeks + Red Lips
This pairing just screams glamour. Start by brushing bone-colored shadow over your lids, then apply blush that’s a shade or two darker than your skin tone. Smooth on lip balm, then fill in lips with a crimson lip liner (this will help the color last). Complete the look with cherry-red lipstick.
Try: Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow in Dunes; Lancome Blush Subtil in Cappucine; Chanel Rouge CoCo lipstick in Paris
Smoky Gray Eyes + Peach Cheeks + Nude Lips
A shimmery gray shadow creates the ideal smoky eye -- soft yet still dramatic. Cover your lid with a pale slate color, then apply a darker one to the eye crease and along your upper lashline as a liner. The finishing touch? “A tangerine blush and nude lipstick are the perfect complement to this sultry look".
Try: Sephora Collection Colorful Palette in Smoky Black 01; Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Blissful; Tom Ford Lipcolor in Nude Vanille.
Shimmery Beige Eyes + Pink Cheeks + Wine-Stained Lips
“It’s fresh, modern, and not too fussy.” We like to dab lip stain on with his fingers for a just-kissed look. Apply blush to your lips and the apples of your cheeks, then add shimmery beige eye shadow -- or dot eyeliner between your lashes for soft definition.
Try: Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Longwear Eyeshadow in Emerveille; YSL Creme de Blush in Powdery Rose; Hourglass Cosmetics Aura Sheer Lipstain in Flush
Navy-Lined Eyes + Rosy Cheeks + Shell-Pink Lips
For a chic, unexpected twist on the classic cat eye, use indigo liner. Starting at the inner corner of your eye, trace along your lash line, then flick up the liner when you reach the outer corner. Just don’t make the tail too long. “Short and subtle is more". Pale pink lipstick and dusty rose blush complete the look.
Try: Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner in Navy Blue; Chanel Powder Blush in Orchid Rose; Bite Luminous Creme Lipstick in Bouquet
Taupe Eyes + Bronzed Cheeks + Cotton Candy Lips
Sweet and simple, this combo creates the ultimate fresh face. Apply shadow from the crease of your lid to the lashline, and keep your bottom lashes bare. “This will make your eyes appear more open and bright". Then apply bronzer along your cheekbones, and brush lips with gloss.
Try: Becca Cosmetics Eye Colour Powder (Demi-Matt) in Doeskin; Make Up For Ever Sculpting Power in 02; YSL Gloss Pur in Pure Petal.
Ivory Eyes + Coral Cheeks + Bright Pink Lips
Dab on balm, then, for color that lasts, use a lip brush and short strokes to fill your lips in with lipstick. Blot and repeat. Keep the rest of your makeup clean and neutral. “Use almost nothing on the eyes -- just ivory shadow on your lids". For a dewy glow, blend cream blush onto the apples of your cheeks.
Try: Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Buttercream; Stila Convertible Color in Petunia; Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Shalimar.
Plum Eyes + Raspberry-Stained Cheeks + Glossy Lips
“Pink and purple tones give skin a delicate, romantic flush". Apply a shimmery lilac shadow to the entire lid, then line the upper lashline in an eggplant shade. Dab cheeks and lips with a pink stain -- it provides lasting color -- then top lips with matching gloss.
Try: Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Bouquet; Becca Beach Tint in Fig; Maybelline New York Colorsensational Lip Gloss in Pink Perfection.
Copper Eyes + Dewy Cheeks + Apricot Lips
This duo reads warm, beachy, and beautiful. Dust shadow over your entire lid, then smudge a deeper chocolate color along your upper lashline. Blend cream bronzer along your cheeks, hairline, and temples with a sponge, then swirl bright pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Finish with a coat of apricot gloss
Try: Josie Maran Argan Beautiful Nudes Eyeshadow Palette; NARS The Multiple in Laguna; Armour Beauty Lip Gloss in Ann-Margret
Black-Lined Eyes + Sunny Cheeks + Rose Lips
We like to pair a thick band of liner with a soft cheek for an ultra-glamorous look that’s as classic as it gets. Brush on taupe shadow, then use a liner brush to drag gel eyeliner from the inner to the outer corner of your lashline, gradually widening the line as you go. Dust matte bronzer under your cheekbones, and top lips with neutral pink lipstick.
Try: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink; Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder; Dior Addict Lipstick in Baby Rose.

Denver Florists, wedding workouts, exercise, health and fitness
Today and tomorrow we'll be talking about workouts. every bride wants to look her best on her big day. We'll show you a few things that will get you looking smoking hot.
foods;
Remember it doesn't matter how much you work out if you eat poorly. So, eat properly ( no processed, packaged or fast foods ). Increase your protein, decrease carbs from sodas and packaged foods ( get your carbs from fruits and vegetables ). need a lift in the afternoon, don't reach for an energy drink ( their horrible for you ), grab some fruit. The small amount of sugars are all natural and will give you a pick up without a crach and will burn quickly because there all natural ( noone ever got fat from eating too much fruit ). Eliminate saturated fats. fats should come from whole natural foods ( your body needs these to function properly, digest foods process nutrients, etc ). balance your calaories. Keep your calorie intake low enough to not gain weight but high enough to still have the nutrients and energy you need.
Portions;
Eat small healthy meals and snacks more often throughout the day. it keeps your protein and energy levels up and small meals are more easily digested than large meals. Your body can only absorb a certain amount of nutrients at one time or one meal. With large meals most will go to waste, with small meals more nutrients are absorbed and your body gets more out of the meal and you will be more satisfied.
workouts;
cardio - cardio is important for conditioning and fat burning. remember you have to push yourself to burn fat. There's stages to fat burning, first you have to burn your energy, then your stored energy then your stored fat. then you start loosing weight. cardio is good but won;t tone muscle as well and resistance training. that's why we'll incorporate some of that also.
cardio and weight training on the same day is a great idea to do. Do your cardio first because that way your\ energy level is already up and your muscles and joints are warmed and ready to go.
Ok that's the tip of the basics. next we'll go int a few exercises;
Front squats: for thighs, hamstrings, and butt.
If you’re a beginner start without dumbbells. Begin with your arms crossed over your chest, lower yourself down, bending your knees,so your legs form a 90-degree angle (as if you’re about to sit in a chair). Then rise up, squeezing your glutes together.
Take it to the next level: Hold a set of Dumbbells. Be sure to hold the dumbbells up at your shoulder,
It distributes the weight to your upper body properly. It’s better For balance, is more challenging and gets better results.
Forearm plank: for absand shoulders
Start here: Get into plank position, keeping your abs contracted and feet shoulder-width apart. Place
forearms flat on the ground, palms facedown. Hold for 60 seconds. ( or as long as you can, then work up to 60 secons. remember to keep your body straight and don’t bend at the waist and let your stomach sag )
Take it to the next level: Instead of positioning your feet side by side, stack them heel-to-toe.
Forearm side plank: for obliques, glutes, thighs, and shoulders
Start here: Lie on your left side, with one foot infront of the other. Prop yourself up on your left
forearm, and place your other hand on your waist.Lift your hips off the floor, and hold for 30 seconds.
( remember to stay straight, don’t let your waist sag )
Take it to the next level: Rather than resting your free hand on your waist, extend it toward the ceiling
Close row: for triceps and upperand lower back
Start here: Holding onto the edge of a chair forsupport, bend at the knees with a dumbbell inone hand. Bend over slightly ( as in photo ) Hold the dumbbell down at your side and pull the weight back toward your chest. Fully extend your arm, keeping it parallel toyour thigh.
Take it to the next level: Let go of the chair andlightly place your free hand on your thigh.
Stationary lunge: for thighs, hamstrings, and butt
Incorporate this with the squats and you’ll have great legs and a great butt. Stand with your feet
about a leg’s distance apart, right foot in front ofthe left. Put your hands on your hips fpr good balance.
Bend your right knee down to a 90-degree angle without letting your left knee touch the ground,
then rise up.
Take it to the next level: Hold an 8-pounddumbbell in each hand, and bring them together at
collarbone level. Rest the weights against your chest, and then begin the lunge.
Wood chop: for obliques ( sides near abs )and shoulders
Start here: Stand with your feet out to the side, about a leg’s distance apart. Put your hands
together, palms touching, and keep arms straight.Swing arms from the outside of one knee to the
opposite shoulder, twisting your torso as you go.
Take it to the next level: Clasp your handsaround one dumbbell or use an exercise ball. Then reverse the
movement, swinging your arms from oneshoulder to the outside of the opposite knee.
We'll continue tomorrow with more. Good luck.

Chocolate cake for your wedding?
For a less conventional wedding cake, consider chocolate. Although it's a beloved flavor, chocolate frostings and fondants are often overlooked for paler, pastel colors. Give our gallery a look for some delicious inspiration.
Chocolate Petal ( photo 1 )
Hidden beneath a gentle flurry of bittersweet chocolate curls are three tiers of mocha spice cake made tender with sour cream.
Truffle Cake ( photo 2 )
This tower of truffles is inspired by the croquembouche, the traditional French wedding cake.
Turtle Cake ( photo 3 )
Five tiers of dense double-chocolate brownies are glazed with caramel and trimmed with candied pecans.
Chocolate Faux Bois ( photo 4 )
Faux bois, French for "fake wood," is a lovely decorative motif. A wood-graining tool creates the white chocolate markings on bittersweet chocolate panels; they're then pressed into the chocolate ganache that envelops the cake.
Marble Cake ( photo 5 )
Bakers have been swirling dark and light batters together for more than a hundred years. Here, marbleized fondant hints at the cake's interior and covers a layer of buttercream frosting.
Chocolate Chestnut ( photo 6 )
This rich chocolate and chestnut cake is reminiscent of roasted chestnuts by the fire, making it perfect for a winter wedding. Decorated with sugared fruit and laurel leaves, it's great for both fall and winter -- you don't have to worry about using flowers that may not be in season during colder months

Denver Florists, DIY hairstyles, wedding hairstyles, party hairstyles, work hairstyles
Todays tip? DIY hairstyles. We do these perodically and are always looking for a great look that we can all do ourselves rather quickly and easily if we don't have the time to sit at a salon for a few hours. Take a look, try it out and send us some pictures. ( see pictures below )
The Braided Updo
"This look is relaxed, sophisticated, and unexpected," making it ideal for a free-spirited bride in a floaty gown.
Step 1
Wash, Dry and Curl
Apply gel, like Alterna Bamboo Style Freestyle Flexible Control Gel ( Sephora ), to damp hair from roots to tips and blow-dry with a round brush. Curl 3-inch sections with a 1-inch-barreled curling iron, and hold for 5 seconds.
Step 2
French Braid
Once all your hair is curled, break up the ringlets with your fingers to form waves that will help keep the braid together. Use your natural part as a starting point, and create a side French braid, hugging your hairline and grazing the top of your ear as you go. Tie it off with a clear elastic. If the style's not perfect, that's even better for a laid-back feel.
Step 3
Loosen and Spray
Working from the top of the braid, lightly loosen the woven strands with your fingers (it's okay if small pieces poke out here and there -- actually, that’s the idea). Try pulling out a couple of wisps for added softness, too. When you like the way it looks, mist hair with firm-hold hair spray, applying it more heavily on the braid itself.
Step 4 Roll and Secure
Grasp the end of your braid, and gently roll it up until it rests underneath your ear and to the side of your neck. When you've got it in place, secure the updo with U-pins. The style should be fairly indestructible, but a few final spritzes of hair spray won't hurt. And when you eventually take it down, you'll have masses of lush waves.

Denver Florists, Wedding invitations, wedding etiquette, wedding rules, how to fill out an invitation
Today we're going to continue our segment on wedding etiquette with invitations. We get asked alot about the proper way to navigate the world of wedding invitations. This will be a 2 part segment because there's alot to cover, invitations are an important aspect and imperative that they be correct. we've consulted some outside help on some items from top experts, take a look and give us some feedback on what you've done or plan to do.
PART I
Anatomy of an Invitation
A typical invitation includes certain customary elements: the host line, request line, bride and groom line, date and time lines, location line, and reception and R.S.V.P. lines. Although every invitation should have all these lines, they can be worded and arranged in countless ways to reflect the style of the occasion and the changing times. "The trend is that you do whatever makes good etiquette sense and makes you feel good," says Jerome Brownstein, engraving consultant at Ross-Cook Engraving in New York City. "People are trying to stay socially correct, and at the same time they want to be comfortable." The Host Line
Start with the names of those issuing the invitation, traditionally the bride's parents. Evolving family structures and financial dynamics often make this the trickiest part of the process, so follow the format that best fits your situation. below is a list of host lines you can follow. The Bride's Parents Are Hosting
Most married couples follow the standard format (below); if they have different surnames, an "and" joins them.
Mr. and Mrs. John Michael Williams
Ms. Jane Marie Parks and Mr. John Michael Williams
The Groom's Parents Are Hosting
If you'd like to mention them, do so after the groom's name. If they are cohosting the wedding, add them after the bride's parents' names.
Mr. Douglas Arthur Sawyer the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dean Sawyer
The Couple Is Hosting
The below format works well for delicate situations. If the couple is hosting with their families follow below. if the couple is hosting on their own, omit the first line.
Together with their families
Miss Elizabeth Marie Williams and Mr. Douglas Arthur Sawyer
Divorced Parents
Names are listed on separate lines without an "and" between them, and remember that Mom always comes first.
If mom is remarried, use her married name; the oldest etiquette omits all stepparents, though you can add them if you like. If a remarried parent has a different surname from his or her spouse, put the birth parent first. If you must break the line, do it before the "and."
Parent Has Passed Away
It's not traditional to include a deceased parent, but many people feel strongly about doing so. This wording should make it clear that the deceased parent is not issuing the invitation. (Courtesy titles would be awkward and are omitted.)
The pleasure of your company is requested
at the marriage of Elizabeth Marie Williams daughter of John Williams and the late Jane Williams
to Douglas Arthur Sawyer
Social Titles
You don't have to use courtesy titles (Mr., Mrs., etc.) and middle names, but it's most traditional and formal. When titles other than Mr. and Mrs. are used, spell them out. The parent who has such a title is listed first: Doctor and Mrs., or Doctor Jane Marie Williams and Mr. John Michael Williams.
If you're looking for a little less formality -- and a chance to list the first name of a married woman -- omit courtesy titles entirely. In some instances, as with the example for a deceased parent, using this format will avoid some grammatical awkwardness; if you choose this option, it's best to omit middle names too.

Denver Florists, wedding showers, bridal showers, wedding etiquette, wedding family roles, wedding rules, who pays for bridal showers
Hello everyone. Today we're going to continue our segment on wedding etiquette and traditional roles.
Todays topic is - who pays for what and traditional roles of family
Modern-Day Rules
Today, most people believe the couple should pay for their own wedding, especially if they have lived on their own for some time. Of course, parents often want to pitch in. Contributions should be negotiated according to willingness and ability, but the traditional divisions on the following slides will offer some more guidance.
The Engagement Party
Traditionally, the bride's parents (although anyone can host) will throw an engagement party for their daughter and her husband-to-be, for the express purpose of welcoming him and introducing friends and extended family to the groom and his family and friends. Although this isn't a requirement, it can be a wonderful way to get future wedding guests together to establish a rapport before the event -- familiar faces always make for a more convivial affair.
The Engagement Announcements
Long before the reception takes place or is planned, the parents of the bride are responsible for sending (and paying for) the engagement announcements to the local newspapers. If the groom is from another town, or his parents live outside the local paper's distribution area, the bride's parents should find out whether the groom's family would like the announcement to appear in their hometown paper as well.
Traditional Roles for the Bride and Her Family
Traditionally, the bride and her family are responsible for all planning expenses, the bride's attire, all floral arrangements, transportation on the wedding day, photo and video fees, travel and lodgings for the officiant if he comes from out of town, lodging for the bridesmaids (if you have offered to help with this expense), and all the expenses of the reception. The bride personally pays for the flowers and gifts for her attendants, the groom's ring, and a present for him.
The Wedding Reception
Of all their duties, the bride's parents' role as host and hostess of the reception is foremost. This honor is theirs because traditionally they pay for part, if not all, of the festivities. As such, their names have historically gone at the top of the invitations, and they play a special role at the reception of making guests feel welcome and ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Traditional Roles for the Groom and His Family
The groom's family is responsible for corsages and boutonnieres for immediate members of both families, the lodging of the groom's attendants (if you have offered to help pay for this expense), and sometimes the costs of the rehearsal dinner. The groom is traditionally expected to pay for the marriage license and officiant's fees, and buy the bouquet for his "date" (the bride), as well as her engagement and wedding rings and a gift; he should also purchase gifts and boutonnieres for his attendants. The honeymoon expenses are classically his, as the head of his new household.
The Rehearsal Dinner
The groom's parents traditionally organize (and pay for) the rehearsal dinner. This can range in size from a small occasion for members of the wedding party only to a grand soiree (never to outdo the wedding, of course) that includes half or more of the wedding guests. But they should never be expected to pay for a larger event than they are comfortable with
Other Roles for the Groom's Family
In some circles, the groom's family offsets reception expenses by purchasing the alcohol; in others, the groom's family pays for all the floral expenses. However you work it out, make sure each party is comfortable with its contribution.
well, there's a few tips, let us know what you think. we'll have more for you as the week goes on.

Denver Florists, wedding etiquette, wedding rules, bridal showers, wedding parties
Over the next few days we're going to share some wedding etiquette with you. we always have brides, grooms and families asking us so we'll take a few days to go over a few things.
Day1- we'll start with a fun one
Showers and Parties
Who Hosts the Shower?
According to tradition, a shower should not be thrown by the bride's immediate relatives, such as her mother, future mother-in-law, or sister, since it would appear that they were asking for gifts. The maid of honor or another good friend usually hosts, or several people, often bridesmaids, share the responsibility.
It is common for a bride to have more than one shower; when this happens, the hosts should consult one another about guest lists to avoid duplication. Showers are generally held from a couple of months to a couple of weeks before the wedding.
Regardless of who throws the shower, the host should be on hand -- alongside the bride -- to meet guests as they enter the party.
Shower Guests
Whether your hosts are inviting 18 guests or 80, "the invites should go out a month to six weeks in advance". As for who makes the cut? Since showers are intended for the bride's nearest and dearest, every shower guest must already be on the wedding guest list.
Shower Invitations
Shower stationery trends run the gamut from sweet and simple to high-end. "The options right now are truly endless -- from letterpress to couture -- and suit all budgets". There are so many more options than there used to be. While there are no boundaries when it comes to selecting the stationery, the sending-it-out part is a little less flexible: snail mail only.
Shower Traditions
"The tradition of the groom showing up with flowers just before his fiancee opens the gifts is definitely back". Guests who haven't met the lucky guy before often look forward to this part of the shower for that very reason.
Rituals that have been passed down from older generations are still common. A popular one: making a bouquet out of the shower gifts' ribbons and bows and using it as a stand-in for the real one at the wedding rehearsal. Other old-school traditions, such as having something old, new, borrowed, and blue on hand, are still favorites of today's brides as well.
Creating a new tradition can add a layer of sentiment. Some ideas? Passing around photos from the shower of the mother-of-the bride, or taking a snapshot with multiple generations of women.
Shower Gifts
Because it is understood that guests should bring a present to a shower, it is not appropriate to invite people whom you don't plan to include in the wedding. One noted exception is an office shower; it is not usually possible to invite all of your colleagues to the wedding, but they may want to help you celebrate nonetheless. By the time the shower invitations are sent, the bride should have already registered for gifts; it is perfectly acceptable for hosts to include registry information in the invitations.
Bridal Shower Themes
Attendees are often asked to satisfy gifting themes, from lingerie to kitchen to a personal interest of the bride. "'Round the Clock' showers can be particularly cute". "Everyone is assigned a specific time of day, and the gift should relate to it. Midnight, for instance, could be Champagne; three in the morning could be a 'Do Not Disturb' sign." If the bride will be traveling after the shower and would find it difficult to transport gifts, consider a shoe box shower; if each gift will fit in a shoe box, they should fit in a suitcase as well.

Denver Florists, more, make up tips, best make up, Wedding make up, weddings
Denver Florists, Wedding make-up
We've polled all of our readers, clients and brides for the best make up and here are the choices for #'s 14-26 ( 1-13 were posted on Saturday the 3rd )
For a Spot-Free Complexion
Clinique Acne Solutions Clear Skin System Starter Kit
The altar-bound agree: This combo of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid “gives you your best skin ever” in just weeks.
For Supple Skin
Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin
This water-based lotion had broad appeal. One raved, “It’s just awesome -- not too heavy or too light.” Another appreciated that it didn’t lead to breakouts. And a Colorado bride with dry, red skin “suffered absolutely zero irritation".
For a Smooth Canvas
Laura Geller Spackle Under Make-Up Primer
Like the name implies, it fills in every nook, cranny, pore, and line to “make skin look younger” and “help makeup go on 10 times better.”
For the Perfect Mani
Essie Polish in Mademoiselle
We weren’t the least bit surprised when this best-selling shade took the lead. Its “classically elegant,” barely-there pink hue is chic and sophisticated, and works on absolutely everyone.
For Instant Brightening
Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask
Though several weekly treatments were nominated, this one stood out for its lightning-fast results. “I noticed a difference the first time I used it” was a recurring comment we just couldn’t ignore.
For Baby-Soft Hands
Fresh Brown Sugar Hand Cream
Brides who committed to smoothing on this salve daily saw their skin and nails transformed. Now they can’t stop. “I’m addicted,” said one.
For an Easy Updo
Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins
Ingenious, indeed. These smart spirals “hold styles tight while remaining invisible,” said one Chicago bride.
For Gentle Cleansing
Kevin Murphy Angel Wash
Brides love their Kerastase and this relative newcomer, which helps “keep color looking vibrant” and “thickens hair for styling.”
For Natural Texture
Frederic Fekkai Beach Waves Spray
The only thing that topped the “tousled, not messy” effect of this salt-infused spritzer is the ocean itself, said a California bride.
For Insane Shine
Alterna Bamboo Smooth Kendi Pure Treatment Oil
Though John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum reigns in drugstores, this specialty elixir takes the crown for delivering “hair-commercial gloss.”
For Light Moisture
Aveeno Nourish & Moisturize Conditioner
Voters fell for its “salonlike fragrance,” but the fact it “left hair smooth, not greasy” tipped the scales. Gals with curls went wild for Pantene Dry to Moisturized Conditioner.
For Hold Without the Crunch
Paul Mitchell Express Style Hold Me Tight Hair Spray
Drinks should be stiff. Chignons? Not so much. Warm-weather brides coveted this stuff. “My curls stayed soft and bouncy,” claimed a Floridian. “It got me through the worst humidity,” said another.
For Healthy Lengths
Frederic Fekkai Large Classic Brush
Most brides took note of this tool from their stylist. For hair worn down, it imparted “movie-star shine.” And for updos, “in one swoop, it smoothed strands back into submission.

Denver Florists, DIY Wedding Hairstyles;
Here is another sample of a great hairstyle you can do yourself and look amazing ( practice first ).
Simple Yet Sleek Styles
You don't need a professional to get hair that's as gorgeous as your gown; you can easily create an eye-catching style on your own. These four versatile looks deliver maximum impact but require minimum skill. The hardest part is choosing one for the big day.
Look no. 1: The new French twist, shown here. Below is step-by-step instructions to create this romantic look.
Step 1 - Boost Volume
Your mom is right: Everyone wants to see your pretty face, especially at your wedding. So get those strands out of your eyes!
First, prepare damp hair with volumizer, and blow-dry it with a round boar-bristle brush. Then spritz on a lightweight texturizer for extra body. We like Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ( Oribe ).
Step 2 - Pull Back a Pony
Next, sweep hair into a low ponytail an inch or two away from the nape of your neck, and secure it with a clear band like Scünci No Damage Elastics (available at drugstores). Create volume at the crown by grasping a small piece of hair from the middle of the pony and holding it steady as you slide the elastic up toward your head with your other hand.
Step 3 - Do the Twist
Position one hand at the center of the back of your head, fingers down, and use the other to wrap your ponytail around your index and middle fingers, forming a twist. Secure it along your head with large pins, such as Goody 3" Bobby Pins (available at drugstores). Snip the elastic with scissors (better yet, ask a bridesmaid to do it).
Step 4 - Add Imperfections
Using your fingers, gently loosen strands at the crown and sides of your head, and around your face. "That imperfect wispiness is what makes this chic and youthful. Finish with firm-hold hair spray to make the look last. Try BlowPro After Blow Strong Hold Finishing Spray (Ulta ).
